Possible Causes
Faulty SuperFreeze button or touch sensor, Defective LED/indicator circuit, Software fault in main control board, Stuck relay controlling SuperFreeze operation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel.
- 1. Test SuperFreeze button: With the freezer powered, press the SuperFreeze button and observe if the indicator light responds. If not, suspect the button or touch sensor.
- 2. Access control fascia: Remove screws/clips and gently pull the control panel forward.
- 3. Inspect button contacts: For mechanical buttons, check for sticking or contamination. Clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol if accessible.
- 4. Check ribbon cable: Ensure the cable between the user interface and main PCB is fully seated and undamaged.
- 5. Visual inspection of UI board: Look for cracked solder joints around the SuperFreeze button or LED. Reflow solder if you are experienced with electronics.
- 6. Replace UI module if needed: If the button or sensor is integrated and faulty, replace the entire user interface board with a Siemens-compatible part.
- 7. Reset control: After reassembly, unplug for 5 minutes, reconnect, and test SuperFreeze operation. E12 should clear if the function is restored.
Note: If the UI is good but the compressor does not respond to SuperFreeze commands, the main PCB relay may be faulty and require professional replacement.
