Possible Causes

Defective DC evaporator fan motor with tachometer output, Blocked fan blades causing overload, Broken tachometer feedback wire, Faulty fan driver circuit on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect mains power before accessing the fan or control board.

  • 1. Access fan assembly: Remove drawers and the inner rear panel to expose the evaporator fan.
  • 2. Inspect for obstructions: Check for ice, packaging, or wiring interfering with the fan blades. Clear any obstructions and ensure free rotation.
  • 3. Check wiring: For DC fans with multiple wires, ensure all conductors are intact and firmly connected. Look for broken or pinched wires.
  • 4. Replace fan motor if faulty: If the fan does not run smoothly when powered or makes grinding noises, replace it with a Siemens-compatible DC evaporator fan motor.
  • 5. Inspect PCB fan driver: If a new fan still triggers E25, the driver circuit on the main PCB may be defective and require board replacement.
  • 6. Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and verify normal fan operation and absence of E25.

Warning: Do not operate the freezer for long periods with the fan disconnected; this can cause evaporator icing and poor cooling.
