Persistent Odor / Contamination
Freezer interior has a strong, unpleasant odor even after removing spoiled food.

Possible Causes
Organic residue in hidden crevices or drain, Mold growth on door gasket, Contaminated evaporator insulation, Spilled liquids under drawers
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before deep cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals that can damage plastics.
- 1. Empty and defrost: Remove all food and shelves/drawers. Allow any ice to melt.
- 2. Clean interior surfaces: Wash all surfaces with a solution of mild detergent and warm water, followed by a rinse with a baking soda solution (about 2 tablespoons per liter of water).
- 3. Clean gasket: Gently pull back the door gasket folds and clean inside with mild detergent. Dry thoroughly.
- 4. Flush drain: Pour warm water with a little baking soda down the defrost drain to remove trapped residues.
- 5. Air out: Leave the door open for several hours to ventilate before restarting.
Note: If odors persist despite thorough cleaning, contamination may be in the insulation or sealed areas; replacement of panels or the appliance may be the only cure.
