Possible Causes
Stuck relay on main control board keeping compressor on, Freezer NTC sensor reading too warm (out of calibration), Incorrect sensor placement away from airflow, Control board logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or the control board.
- 1. Verify setpoint: Check that the temperature setting is not at the lowest possible value or in continuous SuperFreeze mode.
- 2. Compare with thermometer: Place a freezer thermometer inside and compare actual temperature to the display. Large differences suggest sensor issues.
- 3. Inspect freezer sensor: Locate the freezer compartment NTC sensor and ensure it is correctly positioned in the airflow, not buried in insulation or touching the evaporator directly.
- 4. Replace faulty sensor: If the sensor is suspected to be out of calibration, replace it with a Siemens-compatible NTC sensor.
- 5. Check control board: If the compressor never cycles off even when the interior is far below setpoint, the compressor relay on the PCB may be stuck closed. In this case, the main control board should be replaced by a professional.
Note: Overcooling wastes energy and can damage food quality; address promptly.
