Possible Causes
Normal pressure equalization after warm air cools, Door gasket sealing very tightly, Blocked cabinet pressure equalization vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: No electrical work is required for this symptom.
- 1. Wait briefly: It is normal for the door to be harder to open for a short time after closing. Wait 30–60 seconds and try again.
- 2. Check gasket lubrication: Wipe the gasket and mating surfaces clean. A very sticky gasket can be lightly wiped with a damp cloth; avoid oils or greases.
- 3. Inspect vent: Some SMEG models have a small pressure equalization vent. Ensure it is not blocked by packaging or debris.
- 4. Verify leveling: Make sure the cabinet is level so the door closes and opens smoothly.
