Long Run Time / Control or Air Leak Issue
Freezer runs constantly and rarely shuts off, even when interior seems cold.

Possible Causes
Door gasket leaking, Thermostat or sensor misreading temperature, Poor ventilation around condenser, Heavy frost restricting airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety note: Unplug the freezer before cleaning coils or removing panels.
Steps to reduce excessive run time:
- Check door seal: Inspect the gasket for gaps, tears, or hardened sections. Replace if it does not seal all around. Adjust door hinges if the door is sagging.
- Eliminate obstructions: Ensure nothing is preventing the door from closing fully, such as overpacked shelves or protruding items.
- Clean condenser and improve airflow: Vacuum dust from condenser coils and ensure adequate clearance around the unit.
- Defrost interior: If heavy frost is present on walls or the evaporator cover, perform a full manual defrost by unplugging the unit, leaving the door open, and placing towels to catch water. Restart after all ice is gone.
- Verify temperature sensor/thermostat: If the freezer is much colder than the setpoint yet still runs, test and replace the thermostat or thermistor as needed.
