Possible Causes

Compressor oil displaced into refrigerant lines from horizontal transport, Control in delay mode, Loose internal connection from movement

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always keep freezers upright during transport when possible.

Steps after moving a freezer:

  • Let it stand: If the freezer was laid on its side, leave it upright and unplugged for at least 4–24 hours (check Summit's manual) to allow compressor oil to settle.
  • Check power and controls: After the rest period, plug in the unit and ensure the control is turned on and set to a cold setting.
  • Inspect for loose connections: If the unit still does not start, unplug it and check accessible wiring and connectors at the control and compressor for dislodgement.
  • Monitor operation: Once started, allow 24 hours to reach full operating temperature.
