Possible Causes

Defective cabinet or ambient NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Loose or corroded connector at main PCB, Main PCB sensor input failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect the freezer from mains power before opening any panels.

  • Identify the ambient/cabinet sensor: On many Teka freezers with digital displays, a second NTC is located behind the control panel or in the air channel near the top/front of the cabinet.
  • Access the control panel: Remove the top front trim or control housing screws. Carefully pull the panel forward to expose the sensor and wiring.
  • Visual inspection: Look for moisture ingress, cracked insulation, or loose connectors on the sensor leads.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure with a multimeter. Compare to expected NTC values (similar range to the freezer NTC). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of spec.
  • Check harness and connector: Verify continuity from the sensor to the PCB. Clean any oxidized contacts and reseat connectors firmly.
  • Replace faulty sensor: Install a compatible Teka ambient NTC, routing the cable as originally installed. Avoid pinching the cable when refitting the control panel.
  • If sensors and wiring test OK: The main PCB may misread the sensor. Inspect for damage and replace the PCB if necessary.

Test: Restore power, clear the error by power-cycling, and verify that the displayed temperature responds realistically to cabinet conditions.
