Possible Causes

Cabinet not level, Loose compressor mounting or pipes touching cabinet, Noisy condenser fan motor, Ice buildup contacting fan blades

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before adjusting components or accessing fans.

  • Level the appliance: Adjust the front and rear feet so the freezer is stable and does not rock. Use a spirit level if available.
  • Check for contact points: At the rear, ensure copper pipes and the condenser are not touching the cabinet or each other in a way that can vibrate. Gently bend or pad them with foam where needed.
  • Inspect compressor mounts: Verify that rubber mounts are intact and that the compressor is not hitting the frame.
  • Check condenser and evaporator fans: Spin the blades by hand (with power off). Remove any ice or debris. Replace the fan motor if bearings are noisy or if there is excessive play.
  • Internal rattles: Inside, ensure shelves and baskets are properly seated and not vibrating against the liner.

Test: Restore power and listen. Minor humming is normal, but loud rattling should be eliminated.
