Possible Causes
Blocked defrost drain hole, Frozen drain tube, Cracked internal drain tray, Misaligned or overflowing external drip tray above compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing panels or working near electrical parts.
- Locate the drain: Inside no-frost Teka freezers, a small drain hole is usually located below the evaporator at the rear.
- Clear the drain hole: Use a soft plastic probe or pipe cleaner to remove debris. Do not use metal objects that can puncture the liner.
- Flush with warm water: Using a turkey baster or syringe, flush warm (not boiling) water through the drain to melt any ice blockage.
- Check external drain tube and tray: At the back near the compressor, ensure the drain tube leads into the drip tray and is not kinked or dislodged. Clean the tray of sludge and debris.
- Inspect for cracks: If water still leaks inside, inspect the internal drain channel and tray for cracks. Replace damaged parts if accessible.
Test: After clearing, pour a small amount of water into the internal drain area and confirm it flows to the external tray without leaking.
