Possible Causes
Stuck or shorted touch key on display PCB, Moisture behind control panel, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Faulty display PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Dry the panel: If condensation or liquid has contacted the control area, wipe it dry and allow several hours for internal moisture to evaporate.
- 2. Remove control panel: Carefully detach the front panel to access the keypad PCB and ribbon cable.
- 3. Inspect for damage: Look for corrosion, burnt spots, or cracked traces on the keypad PCB. Check that the ribbon cable is fully seated and not torn.
- 4. Test buttons: With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter in continuity mode across button contacts (if accessible) to see if any are permanently shorted.
- 5. Replace display/keypad PCB: If any keys are stuck or the board is damaged, replace the entire display/keypad assembly with a Toshiba-compatible part.
