Possible Causes
Shorted or open door switch, Broken harness in door frame, Corroded connector at PCB, Main PCB input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before working on switches or wiring.
Steps:
- 1. Check door switch function: Press the switch manually and observe if the interior light turns on/off (after restoring power briefly). If not, suspect the switch or wiring.
- 2. Remove switch: Unplug the freezer. Pry out the switch from the liner and inspect the terminals and wires.
- 3. Test continuity: Use a multimeter to check the switch in both pressed and released positions. Replace if it does not change state.
- 4. Inspect harness: Follow the wires from the switch into the cabinet as far as accessible. Look for pinched or broken insulation.
- 5. PCB input: If the switch and wiring are good, the main PCB door input circuit may be faulty and require board replacement.
