Possible Causes
Defective freezer compartment thermistor, Sensor dislodged from liner wall, Damaged sensor harness, Main PCB sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing internal panels.
Steps:
- 1. Locate freezer sensor: This thermistor is usually behind a small plastic cover on the inner wall or attached to the evaporator cover.
- 2. Visual check: Ensure the sensor is properly clipped in place and not hanging loose or encased in heavy ice.
- 3. Electrical test: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Toshiba NTC specs. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- 4. Harness inspection: Check the wiring from the sensor to the main PCB for continuity and damage.
- 5. Replace faulty part: Install a new freezer compartment thermistor if needed. If the sensor and harness are good, replace the main control PCB.
