Possible Causes

Frozen defrost drain hole, Food debris blocking drain, Drain tube kinked or misrouted, Excessive humidity entering due to door openings

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the freezer before working inside.

Steps:

  • Remove ice: Chip away large ice sheets carefully with a plastic scraper. Avoid metal tools that can damage the liner.
  • Access drain: Remove the rear interior panel to expose the evaporator and drain trough.
  • Clear drain hole: Pour hot (not boiling) water into the drain trough and use a turkey baster to force water through the drain until it flows freely into the drain pan below.
  • Check drain tube: From the rear, inspect the drain tube for kinks or disconnections. Re-seat it into the drain pan.
  • Reduce humidity: Minimize door openings and ensure the door gasket seals well to reduce frost and defrost water volume.
