Display shows L1 or LO; internal temperature is extremely low, sometimes causing items to freeze harder than normal or frost buildup

Safety: Unplug the freezer before accessing sensors or the control board.

Steps:

• Check setpoint: Verify the temperature setting on the control panel. Adjust to a warmer setting and monitor for several hours.
• Inspect thermistor placement: Ensure the cabinet thermistor is properly positioned and not touching the evaporator coil directly, which can cause false readings. Reposition if necessary.
• Reset control: Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes to reset the electronics, then restore power.
• Monitor compressor: If the compressor runs continuously regardless of temperature, the control board relay may be stuck closed. Inspect and replace the main control board if confirmed.

Note: Excessively low temperatures can cause frost buildup and increased energy use; address promptly.
