Freezer makes a loud rattling or vibrating noise, especially when the compressor is running

Possible Causes
Unit not level, Loose internal panels or baskets, Condenser fan shroud vibrating, Refrigerant lines contacting cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before tightening internal components or accessing fans.
Steps:
- Level the unit: Use a level to check side-to-side and front-to-back. Adjust the front leveling legs until the freezer is stable and does not rock.
- Check baskets and shelves: Remove and reseat all baskets and shelves. Add felt pads or rubber spacers if metal parts are rattling.
- Inspect condenser fan (if equipped): Access the rear compartment and ensure the fan shroud and motor are securely mounted. Tighten any loose screws.
- Secure tubing: Gently reposition any refrigerant lines that are touching the cabinet or each other, adding foam sleeves if needed.
Tip: Placing vibration-absorbing pads under the freezer feet can further reduce noise.
