Safety: Unplug the freezer before performing a full manual defrost.

Steps:

• Inspect door gasket: Look for tears, gaps, or hardened sections. Clean the gasket with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
• Check door alignment: Ensure the door hinges are tight and the door is not sagging. Adjust hinges if possible so the gasket contacts evenly.
• Manual defrost: Remove contents, unplug the unit, and allow all frost to melt. Use towels to absorb water.
• Usage habits: Reduce the frequency and duration of door openings. Avoid storing hot or uncovered moist items.
• Replace gasket: If the seal is damaged or does not seal after cleaning and adjustment, replace with an OEM Whynter door gasket.

Tip: After gasket replacement, lightly warm and shape the gasket with your hands to ensure a good seal.
