Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, Moisture bridging sensor terminals, Pinched sensor cable, Shorted sensor input on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect mains power before working on sensors or wiring.
- Locate freezer sensor: Access the freezer interior panel and find the freezer temperature sensor clipped to the liner or evaporator.
- Inspect for moisture: Check for water or ice around the sensor connector. Dry thoroughly and ensure the connector is clean.
- Check cable routing: Look for areas where the cable may be crushed or pinched by panels or baskets.
- Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure the sensor resistance at a known temperature. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor.
- Replace sensor: If shorted, install a new Zanussi-compatible freezer NTC sensor and route wiring correctly.
- Control board: If the sensor and wiring are fine but F1 persists, the main control PCB sensor input may be shorted internally and require replacement.
