How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the freezer before removing the door switch.
- Remove switch: Gently pry out or unscrew the door switch from the cabinet frame.
- Inspect for moisture or corrosion: If the switch is wet or corroded, dry the area and clean contacts if possible.
- Test with multimeter: Check continuity while pressing and releasing the switch. It should change state reliably.
- Check wiring: Ensure the wires are not shorted together or broken behind the liner.
- Replace switch: If faulty, fit a new Zanussi door switch and refit securely.
- Control PCB: If the switch and wiring are good, the main control PCB may misread the door state and need replacement.
