Possible Causes

Shorted pressure switch contacts, Pressure switch hose misrouted causing constant vacuum, Faulty Alpha control board sensing circuit, Inducer motor backdrafting through vent

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before testing the pressure switch.

  • Visual inspection: Locate the pressure switch and verify the hose is connected to the correct port on the inducer housing. Ensure it is not connected to a constant vacuum source.
  • Check for stuck contacts: With power off, gently tap the pressure switch body with the handle of a screwdriver to free a stuck diaphragm. Do not hit hard.
  • Inspect wiring: Confirm the two low-voltage wires on the pressure switch are firmly attached and not shorted together.
  • Restart: Restore power and call for heat. If E07 returns immediately and the control board diagnostic LED indicates a stuck-closed switch, the pressure switch or control board may need replacement.

Because this involves safety interlocks, further diagnosis is best handled by an Alpha-certified technician.
