Critical safety warning: An open rollout switch indicates a potential flame or exhaust problem that can lead to fire or carbon monoxide hazards. Do not repeatedly reset the switch without finding the cause.

• Power off: Turn off power and gas to the furnace immediately.
• Visual inspection: Remove the burner access panel. Look for signs of scorching, melted wiring, or soot around the burners and rollout switches.
• Check venting: Inspect the flue pipe for disconnections, severe corrosion, or obvious blockages. Do not operate the furnace if the venting is compromised.
• Reset only once (if manual reset type): Some Alpha rollout switches have a small red reset button. If there is no visible damage or soot, you may press it once to reset. If it trips again, shut the system down and call a professional.
