Possible Causes
Weak flame signal due to dirty flame sensor, Poor burner grounding to chassis, Low gas pressure causing unstable flame, Faulty flame sense circuit on Alpha control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas before cleaning or adjusting components.
- Clean flame sensor: Remove and gently clean the Alpha flame sensor rod with fine abrasive pad until shiny. Reinstall securely.
- Check ground connections: Ensure the burner rack and control board ground wire are tightly fastened to clean metal. Remove rust or paint under ground lugs if necessary.
- Inspect burners: Remove burners (if accessible) and clean ports with a soft brush or compressed air. Reinstall in the same order.
- Test operation: Restore power and gas, then call for heat. If flames appear stable but E11 persists, the control board's flame sense circuit may be failing.
Gas pressure and combustion should be checked with proper instruments by a licensed technician.
