Possible Causes
Tripped circuit breaker, Furnace service switch off, Blown internal fuse on Alpha control board, Failed 120V-24V transformer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use caution when working around electrical panels. If unsure, contact an electrician.
- Check breaker: Locate the furnace breaker in the electrical panel and reset if tripped. If it trips again immediately, do not reset further.
- Verify service switch: Ensure the furnace disconnect switch (often looks like a light switch near the unit) is in the ON position.
- Inspect control board fuse: With power off, remove the blower door and check the low-voltage fuse on the Alpha control board. Replace with the same rating if blown, after checking for shorts.
If the furnace remains dead, the transformer or control board may be faulty and should be tested by a technician.
