How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before accessing blower or wiring.
Error 14 indicates repeated opening of the primary limit due to overheating.
- Replace filter and clean blower:
- Install a new filter of the correct size.
- Remove blower assembly and clean dust from blower wheel blades.
- Check blower capacitor:
- Discharge and remove the capacitor.
- Test with a capacitance meter; replace if out of tolerance with an identical µF rating.
- Verify blower speed tap:
- On PSC motors, ensure the correct speed tap is connected for heating per American Standard wiring diagram.
- If overheating persists, have ductwork and furnace sizing evaluated by a professional.
