Possible Causes
Blocked condensate trap, Kinked condensate hose, Frozen external drain, Faulty condensate pump (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Condensate is mildly acidic. Wear gloves and eye protection when handling.
- Inspect condensate trap: Locate the plastic condensate trap at the base of the heat exchanger. Remove according to the manual and flush with clean water to remove sludge.
- Check condensate hose: Ensure the hose from the trap to the drain is not kinked or blocked. Blow through gently to confirm it is clear.
- Check external termination: In cold weather, the external condensate pipe can freeze. Thaw gently with warm (not boiling) water and insulate the pipe.
- Condensate pump (if present): If your installation uses a pump, verify it runs when water is present. Clean the pump reservoir and float switch.
