Possible Causes

Blocked condensate trap or hose, Cracked condensate collector, Loose hose connections, Corroded secondary heat exchanger (condensing models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off power. Condensate is mildly acidic; wear gloves.

  • Locate leak source: Remove the front panel and observe where water is originating—condensate trap, hoses, or heat exchanger area.
  • Clean trap and hoses: As described for A18, remove and flush the condensate trap and hoses. Reconnect securely.
  • Check external drain: Ensure the drain line to the building's waste system is not blocked.

If water appears to come from the heat exchanger body, shut down the furnace and call a technician immediately.
