Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power and close the gas shutoff valve before opening the combustion chamber. Allow the unit to cool.
- 1. Observe operation: Restore power and gas, then watch through the inspection glass. If the flame appears weak, lifts off the burner, or pulses before going out, suspect gas supply or burner contamination.
- 2. Check gas pressure: A qualified technician should measure inlet and burner pressure at the Brötje gas valve test points. Correct any supply issues or adjust the valve according to the manufacturer’s data plate.
- 3. Clean burner and venturi: Remove the burner assembly. Clean the burner surface, venturi, and air intake with a soft brush and vacuum. Ensure all burner ports are free of debris.
- 4. Inspect ionisation electrode position: Verify the electrode gap and position relative to the burner as specified in the Brötje service manual. A misaligned electrode can cause intermittent flame signal. Replace if worn or cracked.
- 5. Check wiring and control board terminals: Ensure the ionisation cable and gas valve connectors are tight and corrosion-free on the main control board.
If flame loss persists after cleaning and basic checks, the gas valve or control board may be defective and should be replaced by an authorised technician.
