Possible Causes
Partial vent blockage, undersized or restricted return air, weak inducer on low-heat tap, faulty low-heat pressure switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing panels. Do not adjust factory-set pressure switches.
- Check air filter and returns: Replace a dirty filter. Ensure all return grilles are open and not blocked by furniture.
- Inspect venting: Look for partial obstructions in the vent and intake that might only affect low-fire operation (ice buildup, small nests).
- Check condensate drain (condensing models): Ensure the drain line is clear and properly sloped. A partially blocked trap can affect pressure readings.
- Observe operation in low heat: Many two-stage Bryant furnaces start in low fire. Watch the inducer and listen for surging or unusual noises that might indicate a weak motor.
If code 32 recurs after airflow and vent checks, the low-heat pressure switch or inducer may require replacement.
