Possible Causes
Dirty blower wheel, undersized or restricted ductwork, failing blower motor capacitor, incorrect blower speed setting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the blower assembly.
- Filter and registers: Replace the filter and open all supply and return registers fully.
- Inspect blower wheel: Remove the blower assembly and check for heavy dust buildup on the wheel blades. Clean thoroughly with a brush and vacuum.
- Check capacitor (PSC motors): Locate the blower motor run capacitor. If it is bulging or leaking, replace it with the same microfarad (µF) rating and voltage.
- Verify blower speed tap: On multi-speed Bryant furnaces, confirm the correct speed tap is connected for heating per the wiring diagram.
If airflow remains poor, a ductwork evaluation may be needed to correct design or installation issues.
