Water leaking from the bottom of the Buderus furnace or nearby piping
Safety Warning

If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power. If leak is significant, close system isolation valves to limit water damage.
Steps:
- Identify source: Dry the area and observe where water first appears: from piping joints, condensate tubing, or inside the furnace cabinet.
- Tighten fittings: Carefully tighten accessible unions and threaded connections on heating and condensate lines.
- Condensate system: Inspect the Buderus condensate trap and hoses for cracks or disconnections. Clean and reseat as needed.
- Check pressure: Overpressure can cause relief valve discharge. Verify system pressure is within normal range.
If water appears to come from inside the heat exchanger or combustion area, shut down the furnace and call a Buderus technician; the heat exchanger may be compromised.
