Possible Causes
Unbalanced blower wheel, loose blower mounting, loose sheet metal panels, flexible gas line or vent pipe contacting cabinet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before tightening any components.
- Tighten panels: Check all furnace access panels and screws. Tighten any loose screws and ensure panels fit snugly.
- Inspect blower mounting: With power off, gently move the blower housing. Tighten mounting bolts if it shifts.
- Check for contact points: Look for flexible gas lines, PVC vent pipes, or refrigerant lines touching the furnace cabinet or ductwork and causing vibration. Add foam or reposition as needed.
- Balance blower (pro): If vibration persists, the blower wheel may be out of balance or bent and should be inspected by a technician.
