Possible Causes
Open or cracked hot surface ignitor, No 24 VAC to gas valve, Faulty gas valve coil, Loose wiring at gas valve or ignitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas before inspecting ignitor or gas valve.
Steps to check:
- Inspect ignitor: Remove the hot surface ignitor and check for visible cracks or breaks. Replace with a Coleman-compatible ignitor if damaged.
- Check ignitor glow: With panels in place and power restored, observe through the sight glass. If the ignitor does not glow during the ignition sequence, it may be open or not receiving power.
- Gas valve wiring: Ensure the gas valve harness is firmly connected. Look for damaged wires.
Voltage checks at the gas valve and ignitor should be performed by a technician. Do not attempt to manually open the gas valve.
