Possible Causes
Thermostat fan set to ON, Stuck blower relay on control board, Short between G and R thermostat wires, High limit switch open causing fan-only operation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Steps to check:
- Thermostat setting: Ensure the fan mode is set to AUTO, not ON.
- Check G circuit: Remove the G wire from the furnace control board. If the blower stops, the thermostat or wiring is energizing G continuously. Inspect and repair wiring or replace thermostat.
- Inspect high limit: If the high limit is open, the control may run the blower continuously for safety. Allow the furnace to cool and check for airflow restrictions and a tripped limit.
- Board relay: If the blower continues to run with G disconnected and limits closed, the blower relay on the control board is likely stuck and the board should be replaced.
Blower relay replacement requires replacing the entire control board with a Coleman-approved part.
