Possible Causes
Dirty or misaligned flame sensor, Poor burner ground or rusted burner assembly, Loose flame sensor wiring to Daikin control board, Faulty control board flame sense circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and gas before removing the burner access panel.
Steps to check:
- Clean flame sensor: Locate the flame sensor (small metal rod in front of one burner). Remove the mounting screw, pull out the sensor, and gently clean the rod with fine steel wool. Do not sand heavily or bend the rod.
- Check mounting and ground: Ensure the sensor bracket and burner assembly are clean and tightly fastened to provide a good electrical ground path.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the flame sensor wire back to the Daikin control board. Confirm the connector is tight and the wire is not damaged.
- Re-test: Reinstall the sensor, restore power and gas, and call for heat. If burners still drop out, the board or gas valve timing may need professional diagnosis.
