Possible Causes

Clogged condensate trap, blocked condensate drain line, cracked condensate collector box, loose drain hose connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power before working around water and electrical components.

  • Locate condensate system: On condensing Day & Night furnaces, find the condensate trap and drain tubing near the inducer or side of the cabinet.
  • Clear trap: Remove the trap (if serviceable) and flush it with warm water to remove slime and debris. Reassemble per markings.
  • Flush drain line: Use a wet/dry vacuum at the drain termination to pull out clogs, or blow gently from the furnace end.
  • Check connections: Ensure all hoses are firmly attached and sloped downward to the drain.

If the condensate collector box is cracked or leaking, it should be replaced with the correct part for your model.
