How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening ductwork or adjusting blower wiring.
- 1. Check registers: Ensure all supply registers in cold rooms are open and unobstructed.
- 2. Inspect ducts for leaks: Look for disconnected or crushed ducts in accessible areas. Seal joints with foil tape (not cloth duct tape).
- 3. Improve return air: Make sure doors undercut or transfer grilles allow air to return to the furnace.
- 4. Adjust blower speed (advanced): On PSC motors, a higher speed tap may improve distribution. On ECM motors, a technician can adjust airflow settings.
