Dettson furnace leaks water around the base of the unit.

Safety first: Turn off power before working around water and electrical components.

• 1. Identify water source: Confirm the water is condensate (clear, appears during heating) and not from plumbing or roof leaks.
• 2. Inspect drain tubing: Check all plastic tubes from the furnace to the drain or pump. Reseat loose connections and replace cracked tubing.
• 3. Clean condensate trap: Remove and flush the trap with warm water to clear slime and debris.
• 4. Test condensate pump: If used, pour water into the pump reservoir and verify it activates and discharges water. Replace if inoperative or leaking.
• 5. Check furnace level: Ensure the furnace is slightly pitched toward the condensate outlet so water flows correctly.
