Possible Causes
Gas supply off to Ducane furnace, Ignition failure, Faulty gas valve, Broken ignitor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas before opening burner compartment.
- Step 1 – Verify thermostat mode: Confirm thermostat is set to HEAT, not FAN ONLY.
- Step 2 – Check gas valve: Ensure the manual gas shutoff near the furnace is open. The handle should be in line with the pipe.
- Step 3 – Observe ignition: With panels in place, call for heat and watch through the sight glass. If the blower runs but you never see ignition attempts, there may be a control or safety lockout.
- Step 4 – Reset furnace: Turn power off for 30 seconds, then back on. If still no heat, professional diagnosis of ignition and gas valve is required.
