Safety first: Turn off power before working near water and electrical components.

• Step 1 – Locate condensate trap: On high-efficiency Ducane furnaces, find the plastic trap assembly connected to the drain outlet.
• Step 2 – Clean trap: Remove the trap (note hose connections), flush with warm water, and clear any slime or debris.
• Step 3 – Inspect tubing: Check all vinyl tubing for cracks, kinks, or loose connections. Reattach or replace as needed.
• Step 4 – Verify slope: Ensure the drain line slopes continuously downward to the floor drain or pump.
• Step 5 – Professional repair: If the internal condensate pan or secondary heat exchanger is cracked, a technician must replace the affected components.
