  • Check pressure relief valve (PRV): If water is coming from a small pipe leading outside, the PRV may be lifting due to high pressure or a faulty valve. Note the system pressure on the gauge.
  • Tighten unions: Gently tighten any slightly loose compression fittings, taking care not to overtighten.
  • Dry and monitor: Dry the area and observe to confirm the leak location.

Professional help: Replacement of a leaking heat exchanger, pump, PRV, or air vent should be done by a technician. Persistent PRV discharge often indicates an expansion vessel fault.
