Possible Causes
Broken hot surface ignitor, Loose ignitor connector, Open ignitor wiring, Faulty control board ignitor relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before handling the ignitor. The ignitor is fragile.
- 1. Visual inspection: Remove the burner door and locate the hot surface ignitor. Look for cracks or breaks in the ceramic or element.
- 2. Check connector: Ensure the ignitor plug is fully seated on the harness and wires are not frayed.
- 3. Replacement: If the ignitor is cracked or open (infinite resistance if you can test), replace it with the exact Frigidaire-rated ignitor. Avoid touching the new ignitor element with bare fingers.
- 4. Board output: If a known-good ignitor does not glow, the control board ignitor circuit may be failed and should be replaced by a technician.
