How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing blower assembly.
Steps:
- Remove blower assembly: Take out the blower housing from the furnace following Goodman service instructions.
- Inspect wheel: Check for debris inside the blower wheel and remove it. Inspect for bent fins.
- Tighten set screw: Ensure the blower wheel hub set screw is tight on the motor shaft and that the wheel is centered in the housing.
- Check motor bearings: Spin the motor shaft by hand; roughness or play indicates a failing motor.
Reinstall the blower and test. If noise persists, the blower wheel or motor may need replacement.
