Steps to check:

• Locate condensate trap: On condensing Heil furnaces, find the plastic trap and attached hoses.
• Clear blockage: Remove the trap and flush it with warm water to clear debris or slime. Reinstall in the correct orientation.
• Check hoses: Ensure all condensate hoses are firmly connected and sloped downward to the drain with no kinks.
• Inspect collector box: Look for cracks or leaks at the plastic condensate collector on the side of the heat exchanger.

When to call a pro: If leaks persist or the collector box is cracked, a technician should replace the collector and verify proper vent and drain installation.
