Possible Causes
Faulty DHW diverter valve or 3-way valve, DHW cylinder sensor failure, DHW priority not enabled in Hoval controller, Circulation pump for DHW circuit not running
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Hot surfaces and water may cause burns; use caution.
- Check controller mode: Ensure DHW mode is enabled and the DHW setpoint is above current cylinder temperature.
- Feel pipes: Carefully touch the flow and return pipes to the DHW cylinder when there is a DHW demand. If they remain cold, flow is not being directed correctly.
- Inspect 3-way valve: Locate the diverter valve and check if the actuator moves when switching between heating and DHW. If stuck, gently exercise it or have it replaced.
- Check DHW pump: Verify that the DHW circulation pump runs during a DHW call; if not, check its fuse and wiring.
