Possible Causes
Defective flue gas NTC sensor, Loose sensor connection, Sensor damaged by overheating due to flue blockage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Flue components can be hot and contain combustion products. Allow cooling and ensure good ventilation.
Steps:
- 1. Inspect flue gas sensor: The sensor is usually clipped into the flue outlet or on the primary heat exchanger. Check that it is firmly attached and the cable is intact.
- 2. Check connector: Reseat the connector on the PCB and inspect for corrosion.
- 3. Technician test: Measure sensor resistance and compare to the NTC curve. Replace if out of range.
- 4. Check for flue blockage: If the sensor has overheated, the flue may be partially blocked. A qualified technician must inspect and clean the flue system.
