Possible Causes
Leaking pump seals, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Faulty automatic air vent, Loose unions or fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power and, if leak is significant, close the heating isolation valves. Water near electrical parts is dangerous.
Steps:
- 1. Remove front cover: With power off, carefully remove the cover and use a flashlight to locate the source of the leak.
- 2. Check visible joints: Tighten any slightly loose compression fittings, but do not overtighten.
- 3. Inspect pump and air vent: Look for water around the circulation pump and automatic air vent. Drips from the vent may indicate it needs replacement.
- 4. Technician repair: Replace leaking components (pump, heat exchanger, seals) and test system pressure.
