Possible Causes

Leaking pump seals, Corroded primary heat exchanger, Loose union on flow/return, Faulty automatic air vent

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close isolation valves to the boiler. Water may be hot; use caution.

Steps:

  • Identify source: Remove the front cover and carefully inspect for the origin of the leak (pump, joints, heat exchanger, air vent).
  • Tighten unions: Gently tighten any accessible compression or union fittings that are weeping.
  • Check automatic air vent: If the AAV on top of the heat exchanger is leaking from the cap, ensure the cap is slightly open (if designed to vent) or replace the vent if faulty.

Leaks from the primary heat exchanger or pump seals usually require component replacement by a qualified technician. Do not operate the boiler with an active leak.
