Steps:
- Check thermostat: Ensure it is set to HEAT and fan is set to AUTO.
- Observe furnace: Look through the sight glass to see if burners are lit during operation. If not, check for ignition-related error codes.
- Verify gas valve: Confirm the manual gas shutoff is open.
- Check filter: Replace a dirty filter that may be causing limit trips and shutting off burners.
If burners will not stay lit or never light, further diagnosis of ignition and gas components by a technician is required.
