- Check manual gas valve: Ensure the handle on the gas cock near the furnace is parallel to the pipe (open position).
- Inspect wiring: With power off, verify that the gas valve wires are firmly connected and not damaged.
- Observe ignition sequence: Restore power and call for heat. Confirm that the ignitor glows and you hear a click from the gas valve. If there is no click and no flame, the valve or control board may be faulty.
