Possible Causes
Loose wiring connection, Faulty thermostat or anticipator setting, Control board failure, Intermittent safety switch opening
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before tightening connections.
Steps:
- Inspect low-voltage wiring: Check all thermostat and safety circuit connections at the control board for tightness.
- Bypass thermostat (test only): Temporarily jumper R to W at the control board to see if the furnace runs normally. If it does, the thermostat or its wiring is suspect.
- Observe LED codes: Note any codes that appear during shutdown to identify which safety is opening.
Intermittent control or safety issues can be complex; if basic checks do not resolve it, contact a technician.
